Hello back! Porsche has been competing in various races for a long time. Special race cars are built for this purpose. You’ve probably seen many of them on TV or online. But there are also very special and unique models. Curious? Then read on quickly!

The ‘Pink Pig’ is an animal nickname for the Porsche 917/20 Coupé. The race car is called like this because its weighty appearance reminds you of a pig. That’s why the car is painted pink and labeled like parts of the pig. For example, you can find ‘trunk’, ‘tail’ or ‘ham’. Really funny, isn’t it?

Particularly well known is also ‘Moby Dick’. This race car got its name because of the shape of its body. It is based on the shape of the famous white whale. On the race track in Le Mans, it drove up to 366 km/h over 40 years ago and finished in 8th place.

But every Porsche is also a real race car on the road. And at Porsche, they also have turbo-strong names! I’ve already introduced you to a few of them here. The name Taycan means ‘soul of a young, lively horse’ and Boxster is a combination of boxer engine and roadster.

Which famous race cars do you also know? Next week, Tina will be talking about the Porsche Museum. See you then!

Yours, Tom
