The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was developed in 1972. Porsche set itself the goal of developing a very light, fast sports car. And they succeeded! Because this Porsche becomes the fastest German production car at that time! It is also the first car with the addition ‘Carrera’.
But that is not the only special feature! This Porsche is also the first series production model to have a front and rear spoiler. With this, Porsche established a trend in 1972. Today, spoilers are indispensable on sports cars! The airflow pushes the car onto the road, allowing it to go faster.
