Hello racing driver! Do you know who founded the Porsche company? It was Ferdinand Porsche. He, his son and his grandson are also the subject of today’s blog. If you want to learn more about the exciting history of Porsche, read on quickly!

Ferdinand Porsche has worked in his Porsche engineering office in Stuttgart since 1931. That’s quite a long time! With this company, he didn’t build his own cars yet, but took orders for other companies. At that time he made the plans for the Volkswagen Beetle. You probably know that one, too.

The first ‘Porsche’ was built by Ferry Porsche, the son of Ferdinand Porsche, and his team in 1948. He once said that he couldn’t find the car he dreamed of. So he simply built it himself. That was the Porsche 356 “No. 1” Roadster. This is how the history of Porsche sports cars began.

After the Porsche 356 “No. 1” Roadster, Ferry Porsche, together with his son Ferdinand Alexander and his team, designed the 911 in 1963. And it is still around today. Since then, many more Porsche models have been created. Do you know them? There are today the Porsche 718, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and Taycan. And you can still buy the 911 today, too.

As you can see, Porsche is a real family business. Speaking of family, Christmas is already next week in Germany! Tina and I have prepared something cool for you!

Yours, Tom
