Having fun through the day
21st January 2022 l For Porsche Fans l 2-3 minutes

Today I’m taking you on a journey into the world of colour at Porsche! Strong colours are a tradition here. And they play an important role in the design. You’ll find out how new car colours are created and what special paints are available at Porsche. Curious already? Then read on quickly!

The development of a new paint colour takes several years. Porsche has very high quality requirements. New paints have to pass many tests. Painted car parts are then left in the sun for 2 years, for example. This ensures that the colour does not change due to the weather.

At Porsche, every new model is given its own colour. This colour matches the character of the car exactly, like a perfect dress. This is usually an eye-catching colour. You can also buy your Porsche in many other colours. Tom’s favourite colour is Porsche red. And I love racing yellow.

Colours from the past are also popular today. The colours have really cool names like star ruby, lizard green or lava orange. And you can even have your Porsche painted in your very own favourite colour. This special colour gets your name. What should it be called?

How did you like your excursion into the colourful world of Porsche? Next week Tom will tell you about the new special exhibition at the Porsche Museum. See you soon!

Yours, Tina

Did you know?
The paintwork of a Porsche consists of a total of 7 layers of paint. Yet it is only as thin as a human hair. Amazing!
