Welcome back! As you know, Porsche Design is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. One more reason to take a closer look at the topic of design. Today we’ll start with design in general. What does the term mean? And what does design at Porsche include?
Design means the creation of a product. This includes, for example, the shape, the size, the colour and the material. Every product you can buy has been designed before. That’s what designers do. You probably know fashion designers. But there are a lot more! Can you think of any others?
As you know, design is very important for Porsche. Because that’s how you always recognise a Porsche. There are designers for the exterior of a car. But there are also designers for the interior and even for the acoustics. He creates sounds, for example, how a Porsche sounds when you drive it.
The different designers all work closely together. Because all the areas have to fit together and, of course, also fit Porsche. I’ve already told you something about the exterior design. The famous Porsche 911 is the model for all designers at Porsche. You can read more about it here.
